They formed in the late 60's, however the bands success wasn't a hit to begin with, so band members came and went, and it wasn't until the mid 70's that the band began it's mainstream success when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the group taking the band to a new pop sound through the mid 70's and 80's. "Gypsy" was one of it's big hits, with Stevie Nicks leading the vocals (sounding amazing!).
